People on the Move: Kevin Kopa

Philadelphia FIGHT has named Barbara L. Bungy chief operating officer for its Community Health Centers. A member of FIGHT’s board of directors since 2012, Bungy most recently served as secretary. She had been with Drexel University College of Medicine within the department of pediatrics at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in several management positions, including as executive director for the Center of the Urban Child, HIV prevention services program manager.

JDog Junk Removal & Hauling, a Berwyn firm working to increase career opportunities for military veterans, has named Marine Corps vet Kevin Kopa the national franchise’s new vice president of quality assurance. Kopa served for six years in the Marine Corps Reserve, where he was deployed twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He had been national account manager for ReTrans. JDog sells franchises exclusively to military veterans and their family members and recycles and repurposes collected material.

GreenLight Fund, a Boston-based nonprofit venture-capital firm with offices in Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Cincinnati, has named Omar Woodard managing director of its Philadelphia office. Most recently, he was policy director to State Sen. Anthony Hardy Williams, and prior to that principal at Venture Philanthropy Partners in Washington.

Grace X. Ma has been appointed associate dean for health disparities and professor in clinical sciences at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. She is the founding director of the Center for Asian Health and will retain her duties there, as well as continue to serve as Laura H. Carnell Professor of Public Health at Temple University, and as a member of Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Population Science Division.

Laurie Bartolomeo, John Kemble, and Drew Desjardins were promoted from senior vice president to executive vice president at Dudnyk, a Horsham health-care marketing company. Dan Zaksas was promoted to senior vice president, director of medical and scientific affairs, from vice president, scientific director.

Navigate, a management-consulting firm based in Wayne, has hired Cyndi Stains as chief financial officer. She had been CFO at Cozen O’Connor. Ian Waxman, former senior manager in Deloitte’s risk and regulatory practice, has been named principal. Susan Kennedy, former senior IT director, business services, at the University of Pennsylvania, has been named senior manager.

Discovery Laboratories Inc., a specialty biotechnology company in Warrington developing aerosolized therapies for respiratory diseases, has hired Craig Fraser as president and chief executive officer. He also has been elected to the company’s board. Fraser had been chief operating officer at Aegerion Pharmaceuticals Inc. and held senior management positions at Wyeth/Pfizer Inc., Johnson & Johnson, and Centocor.

AccuWeather, the Harrisburg provider of weather information and digital media, has hired Sarah Katt as vice president of product development and operations for the AccuWeather Network. She had been content strategy and acquisition lead for Verizon FiOS1 Network.

Philabundance, the Philadelphia nonprofit hunger-relief organization, has hired Jennifer C. Barnhart as director of community food programs. She joined from the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, where she was the director of impact, health, and basic needs.

Lovell Minnick Partners, a Radnor and Los Angeles private-equity firm specializing in financial services and related business-services companies, has hired Greg Dutovas an associate in its Philadelphia office. He had been an investment-banking analyst in the financial-institutions group in the New York office of RBC Capital Markets. Benjamin Kaplan has been appointed a vice president and Steven Korff an associate in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Kaplan made private investments at the family office of a founding partner of a private equity fund. Korff served as an investment-banking analyst at Citigroup Global Markets in San Francisco.

Rick Osberg, a PGA golf professional has joined the sales team at BMW of Devon, a Sloane Dealership.

Russel E. Kaufman has been hired as chief medical officer of Kentmere Healthcare Consulting Corp., a Wilmington firm that provides proprietary outpatient laboratory- and genetic-testing utilization management programs. Kaufman, a practicing physician in biomedicine for 35 years, had been president and CEO of the Wistar Institute in Philadelphia, from which he retired in March 2015, and is president emeritus. Prior to his tenure at Wistar, he had been chief of hematology/oncology, vice dean, and vice chancellor at Duke University, where he is an emeritus professor.

National Penn Bancshares Inc., Allentown, has promoted Michelle L. Gazdik to vice president, from Avon Grove branch manager.

Denise Croce was named executive vice president of clinical and provider management at Health Partners Plans, Philadelphia, a nonprofit managed health-care organization. She had been CEO at Aetna Better Heath of Pennsylvania.

Philadelphia Insurance Cos., Bala Cynwyd, has promoted Sam Garro to senior vice president of compliance, from vice president, and Patrick Walton to senior vice president of underwriting, from vice president.

National Penn Bancshares Inc., Allentown, has promoted Lori E. Morris, branch manager of a King of Prussia branch, to vice president.

Anthony E. Baldassano has been promoted to assistant vice president, store manager of a TD Bank branch in Frazer, from assistant store manager.
